Senior Scientist
Job Description:
The overall responsibility will be to develop biocatalytic processes
for the manufacture of pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical
ingredients. More specifically, the position’s responsibilities
include the design of enzyme-catalyzed reactions, high-throughput
screening for biocatalysts, enzymatic process engineering and optimization,
and enzymatic process scale-up.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry with 5 – 8 years
of industrial experience. Background in biocatalysis and synthetic
organic chemistry is critical to the position. Prior use of enzymes
and microorganisms in organic synthesis is a must. Demonstrated success
in development of biocatalytic processes for pharmaceutical manufacture
is highly desired. Strong knowledge in analytical chemistry and familiarity
with analytical equipment are required. Knowledge in protein engineering
and evolution is a plus. Must have proficient verbal and written
communication skills. Excellent ability to work in a team environment
is required.

Associate Scientist
Job Description:
Develop process for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical
intermediates using enzyme-mediated reactions. Job responsibilities
include: design of enzyme activity assays, high throughput screening
of enzyme libraries to identify biocatalysts of interest, optimization
of biocatalytic reaction conditions and analysis of products using
various analytical instruments.
Job Requirements:
BS or MS in chemistry, bioorganic chemistry or biochemistry. Lab
experience in organic chemistry and analytical chemistry is required.
Experience with enzymes is desired. Familiarity with the use of analytic
equipment and automation such as robotic liquid handling is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to excel in a teamwork
environment are a must.
