BioVerdant currently occupies office and lab space that was custom designed by its scientists for the purpose of biocatalytic manufacturing process development. Enzymology, molecular biology, enzyme engineering, directed evolution, process organic chemistry development, microbiology, and structural biology are efficiently performed in our suite of labs and offices located in the center of San Diego’s biotechnology hub close to the University of California, San Diego, The Salk Institute, The Scripps Research Institute and The Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

The scientists of BioVerdant are world leaders in enzyme discovery, protein evolution, chemical process development and drug manufacturing. The company was founded by expatriates of a major global pharmaceutical company who are internationally recognized in these fields. The company’s management and scientific teams are the inventors of ground-breaking chemoenzymatic processes for Lyrica®, Atorvastatin®, Viracept®, Ruprintrivir®, Pelitrexol® and over 15 other drug candidates. Our “Green Chemistry” approach to drug manufacturing is geared to minimizing the effects and waste products of drug manufacturing on the environment.
